Whenever I’m about to leave a comment, I think

“Whenever I’m about to leave a comment, I think, will this show love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness or self control? If not, I do not leave a comment.”
Christian Dwight Schrute
I made multiple social media versions too so swipe for those. I’m old and not on all those platforms so if I’m saying it wrong consider this my “how do you do, fellow kids” moment. 😅
And, just for the record, this has nothing to do with the modesty debate raging over on twitter and spilling on to IG. I have thoughts on that but I’m not sure how to put them together here yet. I was traveling down this road before that one caught on fire.
I’m still stuck on the fruit of the spirit. I’m stuck on how James says “Mercy triumphs over judgement.” I’m humbled by Jesus’ sacrificial love.
I feel like the bar for conducting ourselves (especially online) was set on the ground and we find some way to wiggle under it. I think Christian Dwight spells it out pretty simply here. It should almost be a checklist - before I put something out there, does it contain at least one of these things? I’m thinking two would be better, three would be ideal.
