Have you read this book? I didn’t intend to read it so fast, I came across the text online and got lost reading through it; I couldn’t stop.

I get upset if I don’t eat on time. One of my big pet peeves is when I can’t airplay to my TV for some reason. I keep looking up rumors for the next iPhone and if “I can just hold on for 7 more months” I can upgrade to something better.

In that spirit; this is a humbling book to read. My hard work today looks nothing like the hard work described here. Higher learning today looks nothing like what’s described in here. But in reading this story through Booker T. Washingtons words I couldn’t help but see the sacrificial love that Jesus models for us. I feel like people are longing for these kinds of leaders. Reading how Washington when from slave to a free man to student and educator and author was definitely a better use of my time than reading *yet another* tip about the new iPhone for sure.

It’s not often this happen but I might have to read this again.
