When it comes to spiritual formation

“When it comes to spiritual formation, our households are not simply products of what we teach and say. They are much more products of what we say or do.”

@justinwhitmelearley from his new book “Habits of the Household: Practicing the Story of God in Everyday Family Rhythms”

If you’ve been here for any length of time you know I’m a sucker for a good habit book. I really enjoyed Justins other book “The Common Rule” so it was an instant purchase when I saw this new one!

I haven’t gotten too far into it but man does this hit home. It’s so easy to form habits as a family, totally unintentionally, that go against the things we say are important. I think that’s why I appreciate books like this so much; the years are flying by and without determined and intentional effort we let routines create themselves rather than being responsible for their creation. I’m excited to dig into the rest of it!

I’d do a giveaway on this one but I’m switching to Kindle for almost all my books! It’s making them easier to read for sure but harder to pass around!
