So this book was an interesting deviation for me in that I don’t usually read prayer books. Not that I don’t think they have any value but I’m a sucker for more of the self-help type stuff (pitfalls and all.)

This book has a series of prayers that Asheritah has crafted and I found when taking the time to actually put away the phone, read through the prayer, and go find the relevant verses it really led to a more relaxed and engaging experience! I think that’s why this quote jumped out at me because it gave me permission not to create my own version of prayer, but to be more intentional in how I come to God. I know it sounds like common sense but this was pretty revelatory to me.

To be transparent, this book was sent to me( along with some book cookies which a.) was totally unexpected and b.) I can’t bring myself to eat them) but really the gift was a bump into a more active prayer life. Geez I should send Asheritah some sketchy sermons cookies or something. 😅🤔
