If your Good News isn’t good news to the poor

If your Good News isn’t good news to the poor, freedom for the captive, recovery of sight to the blind and liberation for people in oppression, might I suggest that your good news is probably not the Good News of Jesus Christ?

On the heels of the SBC report I really was at a loss for what to post this morning. I opened up my _ideas folder, clicked on a random image and it was this tweet from Pastor Joash. Timely words for sure.

If you’re unfamiliar with the SBC report - I don’t even know how to accurately describe it. It’s the antithesis to what Joash talks about here. I talk about nuance and “both sides” here a lot but man it’s hard to see the other side having any merit in this situation. There’s no verse that I’ve read that speaks to sacrificing the sheep.
