I love this quote - it totally sums up that last year or two of my approach to using the Bible.

Something that’s really come alive for me from posting from social media has been my development of respect for the Bible. It’s not that I ever disrespected or thought lightly of it, I just find myself now when quoting or describing a passage or a verse, I feeling a responsibility for doing it correctly. It’s definitely a finely honed sword capable of all kinds of wonderful revelations but if wielded incorrectly it’ll take my own arm off.

I’ve been there before; searching for specific words, cherry picking verse after verse, typing and retyping and editing an argument - all in some weird attempt to win…something? I find more and more my time is better spent, and my stress levels stay way down, if I just let everyone else win and use the Bible to learn more about Jesus.

Note: I don’t know who specifically said this quote - if it’s coming from Jodi or Chris. 🤷‍♂️ I drafted out a few different versions; one with Chris in the foreground, one with them both behind the quote, but this one won out. Oh, and I found out I’m *terrible* at drawing guitars. Just awful. 😅
