I really enjoy seeing how people go about studying the Bible. My account started as a way to share how I was staying focused during sermons but I like seeing how people go about the daily discipline of actually opening their Bibles and learning from what’s inside. I like to see how people take notes, what they highlight, the insights they get, and especially the quality of their penmanship because I’m a handwriting nerd and I cAN’t StoP PLeaSE SEND HELP!

So I was sent a copy of Carrie’s new book and while I haven’t dug through the entirety of it (it is a devotional guide not meant to be torn through in a weekend) I loved the verse breakdowns that she has scattered through out the pages and the beginning section on how to actually study this thing. I think like a lot of things the method is actually fairly simple; it’s just a lot of work. But unlike folding laundry or mowing the lawn, it’s work that pays dividends for sure.

I’d highly recommend checking it out! Even if you’re not into study guides I found it to be really interesting and helpful! The verse breakdown card is super inspirational to me so while I’m giving away the book; I’m keeping the card for myself! 😅
