Ok, I might get in trouble for this one. 😅 I probably should have chosen a different tweet from Shaun but I guess the snarky one got to me.

In the late nineties when I was in the Army, my battalion was deployed to Bosnia as part of the post-war stablization force. Now, compared to the deployments that would happen just a few short years later to Afghanistan and Iraq this deployment was *cake.* What I learned though is that the history of this region is super complex. Learning about the war that occurred there before we came; the different religions involved, the people, it’s maddeningly complicated. Really the only thing I learned is how little I knew about the place and really about any history at all.

I don’t want to tell anybody what to post anywhere. For me, I know I couldn’t be really confident with any foreign policy strategy that would fit within the confines of a tweet. I wonder if that’s why God is so adamant about prayer and fasting. They appear to be the tools we have at our disposal in times where we don’t know the full situation.

People sometimes ask why I don’t post about topics that are more relevant to the current news. Honestly, I’m so ignorant to a lot of stuff that’s happening. By the time I could get up to speed with something, I think the moment would have passed me by. That’s why I’m going to double down on prayer and fasting. I don’t know much but maybe that’s the point? 🙏
