For what it’s worth; a soft heart will get you way further in almost any situation than a set of advanced skills surrounded by a stone shell. I’m not discounting anyones craft but it feel like this ties into the art discussion from earlier this week because art has so much to do with your heart than it does your actual abilities. If only abilities mattered we’d probably just applaud AI art because a lot times it’s technically “better” than what we make. Well, that’s true for me at least. Except for hands but it’s getting a lot better.

I don’t want to assume what the youth wants out of this but if I had to guess, they want someone who is earnest and genuine and not just someone who’s skillful.

I know there’s a fair amount of youth workers here online; what do you want?
