Each of us can discover in Joseph – the man who goes unnoticed

“Each of us can discover in Joseph – the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence – an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble.” -Pope Francis

You know what I’ve never realized about Joseph? He’s a main player in the very early life of Jesus but at some point he totally exits the story…and I’ve never found myself wondering what happened to him? He’s not there for Jesus’ first miracle, the sermon on the mount, or even the empty tomb; he provides a hidden support for Jesus that’s foundational without being sensational. He’s the very definition of “He must increase but i must decrease.”

Even when @faithadjacent asked me to illustrate this episode, i thought they were asking about the *other* Joseph. I started working on that magnificent coat! 😅

That’s what i love about this podcast; every time i hear one of them there’s a totally new thought process that i would have never have thought up on my own. So much rich history to learn about.

And what an amazing example from Joseph, a prime player in this history of ours. Like a true hero that never dies; he just faded away.
