Well…here I am again…saying again...if your comments toward people on social media don’t contain at least one of the fruits of the spirit that Paul lays out in Galatians 5…you may not be doing the work that’s guided by the Holy Spirit. I mean, maybe you are but there’s a real chance that’s you’re not so maybe just chill out a little bit before sending that tweet.

So Jackie Hill Perry made a tweet that people didn’t like and after some crazy backlash this was her response. She’s not wrong. For what it’s worth; I consider myself and evangelical. In looking for videos to get a likeness for this pic; I was struck by how many people have 15-20 minute videos on Youtube about her and her opinions and what the meaning of a single tweet is and how dangerous blah blah blah blah. It’s weird isn’t it?

I don’t know what to say. There’s seemingly a lot of biblical accountants out there recording all the debits they can find amongst other people. Social media gives them a voice. I don’t know if we do anything by shouting back other than to bolster the sense of accomplishment they feel. All I can think of is to encourage those getting yelled at. And there’s a lot of people getting yelled at.
