“God is doing a holy housecleaning and He doesn’t care the gender of His shpherds rather more concerned if they are protecting His sheep. Give me a woman with a tent peg over a man with no spine.”

Phew…what a week on social media. Multiple high-profile pastors have stepped down or resigned due to “moral failings.” One of them, Tony Evans, is probably one of the most requested pastors I get. I’ve always intended to draw him; but now I have to wait and see. Another pastor abused a child. It’s shocking and horrific and the more details that come out the more shocking and horrific it becomes.

You know what else happened this week? Women were shown attending seminary. 😱😱😱

At first I was encouraged by the near universal condemnation of Robert Morris but then the conversation quickly turned BACK to women…and what they can’t do. Apparently one of the things that can’t do is attend seminary? Because it’s “biblically set apart for men?”

Wut?

Every single week. Women can’t do this. Women can’t do that. Over and over and over again. Usually I’m not a fan of the “I’m tired” tweet but sometimes? I totally get it.

I’m no theologian, I’m a regular internet dum dum to be totally honest. I make a ton of mistakes all the time. It’s really annoying actually. But I know there are different interpretations; some that allow women to pastor and some that don’t. And what I do know is that I’m not going to break fellowship over this issue. I’m not going to run our sisters out over this.

And especially on this week, where a wolf was exposed, we should examine our hearts in the execution of our convictions. Because from where I sit, the condemnation of women sounds a lot less like “this is what God wants” and a lot more like “get back in the kitchen where you belong.”

And I’m certain that men were the ones that allowed Morris to continue in pastoring after doing what he did. We’ve got to police our own.

NOTE: I’m under some tough deadlines so I can’t be too active in the comments. Fortunately I keep a few drafts around and I had this one of Natalie ready to go and then she came out with this quote so here we are!
