This tweet by @dhh has stuck with me for the last few days because I’m 100% the “it depends” guy. It keeps me out of conflict but at the cost of my voice.

This is why I always err on the side of taking a stand. A clear position is a place where we can explore the argument. Falling back on “it depends” or “it’s all about trade-offs” is a way to shut it down. It’s what you say when you don’t want to risk saying anything at all.
