If you’ve been here a while you know I grew up in Vegas and have a soft spot for Vegas churches. The algorithm knows this; it’s always like “I recommend this church in Vegas!” and my response is always follow…follow…follow…should I follow? Yes, follow.

Having said that, Pastor Teis is preaching in Vegas about stuff I deal with here in Virginia. In my regular job and even here with sketchy sermons; I use the weekends as time to “catch up” and there are definitely Sunday afternoons where I feel guilty for not “working on my side hustle” or “getting ahead of email” or some other dumb thing. Of all the things I blow off in my Christian walk, rest is certainly one of them and I love how this quote puts things in context. It’s easy to make an idol out of good things - great things even. But like Chan says, “Our greatest fear should be succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.”
