Treat each day as its own little life

1 / 2
Treat each day as its own little life. Each morning marks the creation of a new day and each evening marks its passing away. We cannot live in the past and we cannot live in the future. We can only ever live in the day God created for us.
@challies from “Seasons of Sorrow”
I’ll level with you; I can’t read this book. I, like a lot of us, watched from afar as Tim announced the passing of his son Nick on his blog and read so many words that he wrote afterward dealing with the aftermath of that situation.
I used to not be a super emotional person and I don’t know if it’s because I’m older and married and have kids but I’m a pretty easier crier. Emotional scene in a movie? Here come the tears. Father of Mine by Everclear comes up on a random playlist? Here come the tears. Random endearing video on social media? Tears, tears, all day all tears.
Every time I tried to open this book and read the words - just tears. I can’t do it yet. I had to get a quote so I prayed and opened it to a random chapter. This quote is from the speech Tim was going to give at Nicks wedding but instead recited at his grave. Tears. Sometimes the most simple advice is compounded by the gravity of the situation it’s presented in.
The promo box came with a blend of coffee, apparently Nick loved coffee. I’ll load it up the Breville and enjoy this day as its own little life and enjoy the way its crafted until it ends later tonight.
I can’t even get through writing this caption.
