Seasons of the Soul – Week 4

“Jesus is not in the shame business; He is in the resurrection business.”

This is the closing message of the Seasons of the Soul series over at @waymaker.church ! Such a good series; I really enjoyed seeing how they do things over there. Even though I don’t physically attend the churches that I sketchnote (I mean, other than TRBC) I love that I can hop into practically any church online and really feel at home. Christ’ words are eternal and echoed in unison constantly. There is so much good work being done for the kingdom I wish I could capture it all!

With this series; I wanted to make them all connect in case you like to print things out and put them together. In hindsight I probably should have made this a square and thus creating a cycle. Maybe next time. 🤷‍♂️

Season of the Soul – Week 3

From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. Psalm 22:10

Back to waymaker; this time for Winter. This one was heart-wrenching. The end game is beautiful in that we get to witness God’s restorative power but getting there is hard. Psalm 22 lived out and on display this week. If you are looking for encouragement in your marriage and an example of the powerful grace that God provides then I’d highly recommend checking this service out.

Also, I can’t help but mention Debra Fileta’s “Love in Every Season.” This book details the different seasons we go through specifically in relationships and marriages and details the strategies to thrive through each one. It’s an interesting look at the cycles we go through and what to expect when we encounter each one.

Season of the Soul – Week 2

If you would have asked me yesterday what a “Fugazi” was I would have responded “Oh that’s a punk band from the 90’s.” Not anymore! Always learning, always learning…

I headed back over to @waymaker.church (online) to catch the next sermon in their Seasons of the Soul series and it continues to be revelatory. There’s a lot of content so it’s a little hard to capture it all here but the message of being open to removing things in your life that is holding you back from God’s greater purpose is a timely one. Pastor @jondupin doesn’t pull a lot of punches so you may end up questioning some things in your life; get ready. Also, the baptisms that happened afterwards are super inspirational!

I’m probably going to finish out the series so I thought about experimenting with making them all connect when printed out. I did this back for the Easter series for TRBC but haven’t done it with a sermon series so it’ll be a new adventure for all of us. 😅
