I don’t know where the quote came from but for the longest time I’ve ascribed to the idea that you can learn a lot about a person from the way they treat people that serve them. This applies heavily in the food industry where people have to deal with the *worst* conduct from people they serve. Not only that…but it’s universal. From the largest city to the smallest town; if you serve food to people it’s only a matter of time before you are treated horribly. I’m sure you’ve got stories; I certainly have mine.

From being online though, I’ve really been impacted by this idea that you can also tell a lot about a person by how they conduct themselves with people they disagree with. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying to tolerate evil or hate but what I am saying is that just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean they are hateful or evil.

I really appreciate this word from Pastor Tate. We don’t have to endorse but we can certainly embrace people we disagree with. 🙏 It would certainly result in less engagement and retweets but then again, we’re not called to be retweetable.
