I wish my church would go deeper

I know this is a problem for me; I can tell because I see it in other areas of my life. I procrastinate or drawing that comic or writing that blog post or just about any other endeavor because “I need to do more research first.”

Honestly, there are some things in the Bible I’m not super excited about. Those convictions come fast and I try to weasel around them. I’ll think:

“Is that *really* what it says?”

“Let me check out a different version. Oh no, that’s even more convicting.”

“Well let me check out the original Greek. I don’t know greek but I’ve been meaning to learn. You know what, I’ve thought about a theology degree. Maybe I’ll start to pursue that. Let me add ‘research theological universities’ to my list of stuff to do.”

And on…and on…and on. Meanwhile, the conviction is still there; I just keep putting it in a box for later.

Am I the only that does this? I mean, I don’t think so because Pastor Josh kinda nailed the sentiment here. 🤔🤔🤔

On an unrelated note; usually these drawings come together pretty quick but I’m totally unsatisfied with how this came out. I just don’t think it looks like Pastor Josh. I find making art is a lot like cooking steak; you just can’t leave it on the grill forever so here it is. If you slide through; you’ll find an image with the face blanked out at the end.
