Cynicism is always a choice, it is rarely curious and is never courageous.

A lot of times when I post these things I think they come across as “here’s something for *you*” - meaning, I have a word for you and it’s applicable to your life and I’m addressing this to you.

Honestly, my intent here (most of the time) is that I’m writing and drawing stuff that I find applicable to myself and the caption are usually my inelegant way to think on it.

Cynicism is a problem for me. Although I’m not one that’s seeking to be courageous; I do find that when I find myself in a position with a lack of curiosity that’s a problem.

This is something I’m finding is frightfully easy to adapt to if you’re on twitter; it appears to be a breeding ground for cynicism. It’s strange for me as a layperson because I try to listen to a lot of different voices and since spending more time on twitter there’s this phenomenon where people I’ve drawn here are eviscerating each other over there. Not in a respectful way either. It really makes me question things.

I find it hard because cynicism has a cause too right? There’s a reason why people are cynical and if I just disregard that as “oh that person is just cynical, move on” I think that’s a problem as well. 🤔

I don’t know. People are weird and complicated and difficult and don’t act the way logic or reason would dictate. Maybe that’s why the Bible speaks about grace so often. We’re all a mess.
