How Did It Feel to be Helpless?

“How did it feel to be helpless? This isn’t about easy decisions. Yet I’m still here. No super soldier serum or blonde hair and blue eyes. My only power is I believe we can do better.” @anthonymackie as Sam Wilson, Captain America

One thing I think @falconandwintersoldier does really well is that it really highlights Sam Wilson the counselor. When we first meet him (way back in Captain America 2) he’s counseling vets in Washington D.C. and although his access to a wing suit makes him valuable to Steve Rogers; his thoughtfulness and his helpful spirit is what makes them friends. The same could be said for Bucky.

I thought the speech was great. I’m a sucker for a good super hero speech and this was excellent. This quote would easily apply to just about anybody going through a hard time. Sometimes there are no easy answers. But we still have to have the conversation. We have to stick with it. We have to believe we can do better. If we believe all that; what can stop us?

“Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

P.S. – I’m happy he kept the wings and the shield.
