“As she came riding her donkey into a mountain ravine, there were David and his men descending toward her, and she met them. David had just said, “It’s been useless—all my watching over this fellow’s property in the wilderness so that nothing of his was missing. He has paid me back evil for good. May God deal with David, be it ever so severely, if by morning I leave alive one male of all who belong to him!” 1 Samuel 25:20-22

Abigail was one of the 7 prophetesses of the Old Testament and if you’ve been following the series here she is number 6! I couldn’t have told you before today who Abigail was. 1 Samuel 25 speaks of her and her dealings with and eventual marriage to David. Whenever I read some of these chapters it really makes me thankful for my modern problems – imagine being slaughtered merely because you worked for a man who disrespected David. Yikes!

It looks like Sarah is the final prophetess – after I draw her I’ll assemble them into some kind of large print-out! I thought about doing a series about the major and minor prophets next. There’s a lot more them though, I’ll need to plan it out more. If there’s something else you’d like to see me jump into let me know! 🙌
