"Yes we could. But will we?"

I originally posted this ~4 years ago and good news; There ARE people known for their love on the internet!

Bad news; those spaces of public discourse where we can present our faith confidently and listen to our critics carefully and humbly? We're still working on that. It doesn't help that social algorithms seem to trend toward agitation and mildly interesting soma-like short form content.

I used to think being known for love meant presenting the better arguments but I'm more and more thinking better digital citizenry is the path forward. Posts and comments should look more like Galatians 5:22-26...

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control

...and a lot less like Galatians 5:19-21...

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.

One get's more engagement than the other, but while one will build a platform, the other will build your soul. 🙏🏻
